Lil Wayne seems to be feeling some type of way about his lack of invitation to Coachella over the years. The legendary rapper took to X to air out his grievances with Coachella and other big festivals not inviting him to perform.

What Did Lil Wayne Say About Coachella?

On early Saturday morning (April 18th) around 2:50 A.M., Wayne fired off a paragraph reflecting on his status in the game, but mostly, about the lack of respect he feels he gets from major music festivals.

“It’s truly a humbling experience when events like Coachella & the Grammys come around & like clockwork, I’m uninvited & uninvolved,” Wayne posted. “I appreciate my position or space I hold in ya heart & mind. If so bc you’re the humbling experience that’s timeless & 4dat I thank u. Iaintshitwithoutu.”

Wayne has a point about Coachella. The Goldenvoice vehicle has never successfully booked the Grammy-winning rapper. His only inclusion was in 2016, when G-Eazy brought him out as a surprise guest.

However, Wayne’s received several high billings at other festivals. In recent years, he’s headlined both Dreamville Fest and New Orleans Jazz Fest, along with spots on the bill of IHeartRadio Festival, Roots Picnic, Rolling Loud, and several others.

Still, when it comes to his peers, he’s played less of the big festivals then say, his protege, Drake.

Wayne’s last Grammy win came in 2018 and since then he’s had an openly contentious relationship with the Grammys.

He also felt jilted after his bid to play the Superbowl in New Orleans fell on deaf ears.

How Did Fans React To Lil Wayne’s Post?

Fans were mostly split on Wayne’s post, with some coming to the self-proclaimed best rapper alive’s defense, and others expressing exasperation over his complaints.

“I f*** with you Wayne but I’m tired of seeing you dry begging man with these pity parties,” one user posted. “If you really still got that fire in you then detox yourself, get some youth back, and lock in the studio with some great producers. FORCE them to choose you.” “Colleges and club appearances still exist,” another user said. “Get on some podcasts, hit a J HUD tunnel. Do some cameos. Tap into feature/mixtape Wayne. ReRELEASE your mixtapes! Go get some love from out the country. Do a Brazil or Japan show. It’s summer, you could be dropping a Hot Boy anthem.” “Have you seen yourself perform?,” another user said. “We love you down though.”

Out of all the comments, Limp Bizkit front man, and Nu Metal elder statesman Fred Durst, may have offered a suitable solution.

“Let’s start our own experience gathering and our own acknowledgment event to welcome all of the uninvited,” Durst posted. I’ve got a couple ideas I’ve been working on for quite some while now – happy to elaborate if ever interested – sending good vibes.”

Wayne may not get a spot at Coachella, but you can see him for much cheaper when he goes on tour with 2 Chainz and The Game on Wayne’s 20 Years Of Carter Classics tour this summer.
