Despite being from Kendrick Lamar’s hometown of Compton, rap artist The Game feels like Drake and K.Dot’s feud has negatively impacted the genre as a whole.
The Game Rips Fans For Not Appreciating Drake
A recent report revealed that a hip-hop song has not charted in over nine months. The last song to chart under the hip-hop genre was Drake’s hit record, What Did I Miss? Which dropped last July.
In light of this new information, music producer Isaac Hayes III made a social media post that suggested that Kendrick Lamar and Drake’s 2024 feud “killed commercial rap music.” And Game appeared to agree with his sentiments. And say that fans “didn’t appreciate” Drake. Which, in turn, has negatively impacted the genre.
“Y’all ain’t appreciate one of the greatest now the absence & silence has the art form down 50%,” he wrote in the post caught by Kurrrco on X.

Game’s comments sparked a huge debate on social media.
“The guy who has 6 ghost writers?? Game needs to fade into obscurity already,” one person wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter.
“Drake didn’t disappear from music. He just stopped being in our faces on social media cause they were cooking him every chance they got,” a second user chimed in.

However, if Drake truly is the driving force in hip-hop, that drought will not last much longer. The Grammy-winner is set to release his next studio album, Iceman, later this year.
