Young Thug is looking back on the past and honoring a lost friend. On Tuesday, Thug took to Instagram to honor his Rich Gang collaborator, Rich Homie Quan.

What Did Young Thug Say?

On his Instagram story, the Jeffrey rapper shared a reel with Quan singing to their classic Rich Gang track “Tell Em.” Posting over the reel, Thug wrote: “Never switched on u brada, always rode with u, what happened,” with a sad face tear emoji.

At Thug’s Coachella set, he played their iconic anthem “Lifestyle,” paying homage to his former collaborator.

The breakup of Rich Gang has long been disputed with rumors of ego clashes, back stage dust ups, and outside influences pulling them apart. Not much is known about what happened to them, with both members choosing to not get into it in public.

However, in a 2024 interview with GQ, Thug gave some clarity about the breakup.

“I think we just grew and became our own bosses and men,” Thug said. “We didn’t want to keep doing the Rich Gang albums. We were getting bigger, so it’s like, I wanted to do my own shit.”

Before his death, Quan expressed interest in working together again, unfortunately, Thug still hadn’t reached a plea deal to return home.

“We do have a lot of unreleased music,” Quan said. “But who knows what the future holds? First and foremost, it’s free Thugger. I’m willing to have a conversation, and it’ll start from there.”

Sadly Thug will never get a chance to reconcile as Quan died from an accidental drug overdose in 2024. His death came a month before Thug was released from prison.

What Is The Latest With Thugger?

Thugger almost broke his probation back in February after a traffic stop. Body cam footage showed him being pulled over by Miami police. Allegedly, he drove 83 mph in a 45 mph zone.

Luckily, the officer let Thug go without arrest, alerting him that his speeding could have landed him back in jail.

According to the footage, Thugger allegedly was also driving with a suspended license. Citing “financial responsibilities” as the reason for the suspension.
