Rich Homie Quan left us far too soon back in 2024, leading to a wonder of what could have been. But in an effort to answer that question, Rich Homie Quan’s team has released a new AI generated music video and fans aren’t too happy.
What Did Rich Home Quan Team Release?
On Thursday (May 21st), Rich Homie Quan’s X account posted a new music video for a grimly titled song “Still Dead.” The track is the full version of a snippet Quan posted a year before his death. However, the music video appears to be fully AI-generated.
The video, which is created by Inner Storm AI, depicts Quan in the studio, saying hi to his kid, walking around his neighborhood and award shows.
The video has sparked major controversy in YouTube, Instagram, and X comments.

What Did Fans Say About The Video?
Many fans seemed hurt and outraged over the use of AI to depict Quan without his consent.
“This is wild and lowkey disrespectful,” one user posted. “Rich Homie Quan passed away almost 2 years ago, man. Posting AI-generated videos of him living it up like he’s still here just feels exploitative and creepy. We miss the real Quan, not this digital ghost. RIP.”
“This is very wrong and disturbing,” another user posted. “I’m not completely against posthumous releases (depending on the circumstances)… but an AI music video? Man come on.”
“Does Rich Homie know he’s dropping a new song,” another user posted. “Let that man rest in peace…”
When the video officially dropped, YouTube commenters seemed equally baffled.
“Man Ts fuxked up gng,” one user commented.
“Cant even let a man rest in peace,” another user commented.
“Outrageous title holyyyyy,” another user commented.
Quan’s team tried to make it clear that the song was released to fulfill a promise to the late great rapper.
“This song was inspired by the death of PnB Rock in ‘22.. titled! ‘Still Dead’ – RHQ before his time! video will be on @youtube… song releasing Friday EVERYWHERE!!”
Not everyone was in direct opposition to the release, some fans said that the use of AI gave them comfort. Others asked people if they wanted to see their favorite artists legacy die with them, indicating AI could be used to preserve their image.
However, the bulk of comments across platforms expressed their disappointment, outrage, and anguish.
