Fans of Earl Sweatshirt got some horrible news last night. On Thursday (June 4th) one of the most anticipated tours for experimental rap fans, appears to be canceled.
What’s Going On With Earl Sweatshirt?
According to the Cincinnati concert venue Bogart’s, who booked Earl and MIKE to perform, the show is not happening. In a statement on Instagram, Bogart’s explained the circumstances leading to the cancellation.
“Earl was injured, he will need surgery and a period of recovery before he is cleared to perform again,” Bogart’s posted. “As a result, his upcoming North American tour dates are being postponed.
Earl is deeply sorry to move these shows and knows how much time, travel, and money fans put into being there. Tickets will be honored for the rescheduled dates, which will be announced as soon as they are confirmed. Refunds will be available at point of purchase for anyone unable to attend the new dates.
Thank you for giving him the space to recover properly. He is looking forward to seeing everyone as soon as he’s healed.”
It’s unclear if Bogart’s is issuing this statement or if they’re relaying information from another. It’s important to note that the statement says there will be rescheduled dates. However, with a need for surgery, it may not come until next year, or the winter at the latest.
Has Earl, MIKE, Or Ticketmaster Issued A Statement?
So far, neither Earl Sweatshirt or MIKE have confirmed this news on social media. But, a little digging on Ticketmaster and you can still buy tickets. However, the dates for the shows have changed to TBA, giving some credence to Bogart’s post.
