Jay Electronica has caught the ire of many people recently with his erratic performances. Now, he’s upset the actual promoters.
What Happened With Jay Electronica?
Over the weekend, Jay Electronica had been scheduled to headline a show in Las Vegas at The Usual Place, a popular concert venue off E Fremont St. However, despite the show beginning at 7pm, Electronica didn’t make it. After midnight, the concert promoter felt obligated to explain the situation.
“Real talk, I’ve never witnessed some s*** like this,” the promoter told the restless crowd. But I’m going to be straight up. Supposedly, he’s going to be here around 2:00 a.m. The venue is going to be f***** closed by then. I don’t know what the hell’s going on with this dude’s mind and s***. I don’t know what’s up with him right now. I’m sure some of you heard about Phoenix the other night. I don’t know what the hell’s going on with his mind, but I hope everybody enjoyed everybody that rocked this stage tonight.”
Then, in a rare instance for a promoter to say at a show direct to the audience, he expressed his frustration, point blank.
“I don’t want to say the word, but f*** Jay Electronica, man,” the promoter said. I don’t give a f*** this s*** real talk. There’s some f***** real fans up in here, but I do real business and s*** you know what I mean? Like, I don’t f*** around like that.
The promoter then offered refunds for their trouble and promised to bring a “real legend” next time, before once again saying f*** Jay Electronica.
The controversial rapper has not responded to the situation as of now.

What Other Issues Has The New York Rapper Had?
Recently, Electronica has dealt with numerous controversies. During a show in Miami, he seemed to call for the release of Diddy, who’s serving time for charges stemming from sexual violence and coercion.
““Free Puff, by the way,” Electronica said. “They tried to hang my dawg on some bull****. Just because a n**** likes to get nasty, they tried to hit him with a book of words.”
Then, at a show in Los Angeles, he spazzed on an upset crowd. According to reports, the crowd grew frustrated when they wanted to hear the beat for his classic track “Exhibit C” played straight through. Instead, the situation escalated, leading to fans booing the increasingly agitated rapper.
He addressed the crowd directly which made things worse. The exchange turned the performance into a heated back-and-forth, serving as further example of Electronica’s disconnect with his fans.
