After announcing his decision to leave the Lakers earlier this month, James still has not decided where he wants to play basketball next season. But rap star Rick Ross thinks the decision is easy. He is campaigning for King James to reunite with his hometown team, the Miami Heat.
Rick Ross Makes Plea For LeBron to Join The Heat
In a recent conversation with TMZ Sports, Rozay made his pitch to LeBron. And in his pitch, he didn’t try to sway LeBron back to the Heat from a basketball perspective. But the rap star does believe that from a business standpoint, a South Beach reunion makes the most sense for him.
“I’m talking from a boss’s perspective,” Ross said to the outlet. “The boss move is for LeBron to come to Miami, where the most billionaires are. Because of his brand. You’ve got to feed the other 30 businesses that Bron has created.”
The Heat are on the short list of teams that James would prefer to sign with in free agency. But so are the Cleveland Cavaliers, the team that drafted him first overall in 2003. Ross added that even though Cleveland is an “amazing city,” it still does not compare to the allure of South Beach.
“Cleveland, I just left Cleveland two days ago. Amazing city. We had an amazing pool party. But it ain’t nothing like Miami,” Ross added. “This is about business, guys. I know you guys who are still fascinated, who want to see him jump from the free throw line and dunk. No, I want to see him make some of the biggest empires and put his logos on some of those new big buildings downtown in Miami. And do more business with the billionaires that’s down there.”
With the NBA season drawing nearer, a LeBron decision could be coming soon.
