AZ Chike took the Kendrick stimulus package and made the most out of it. The California rapper took his feature on GNX and has carved out a solid career.
For his next album, No Rest For The Wicked, fans were expecting Lamar to offer a feature verse after Chike posted him and Kendrick working in the studio as promo for the album. However, It appears that’s not the case.
When Chike unveiled the tracklist, features from JMSN and Tyler, The Creator were visible, but nothing from K Dot.
Naturally, fans took this opportunity to speculate why.
“What’s “cope” is believing Akademiks. Chike never explicitly said he was featured. He said he helped him on the album and got a leftover track from GNX,” one user posted with video evidence proving such.
“The concept of the feature being hidden is better. In a way it forces the listener to listen to the full body of work rather than just the song with KDot name attached,” another user posted.
“Kendrick is on the album, we’re not stupid. He’s surrounded his career around Drake (that strategy gave him his most hight) & is waiting to hear FOMO to then release a verse depending on the content of FOMO. Sad to see Kendrick like this, it didn’t have to be like this for him,” another user posted.
AZ Chike recently unveiled the official tracklist for his upcoming album "No Rest For The Wicked," dropping this Friday, which notably lacks the previously teased feature from Kendrick Lamar 👀
