Drake has rarely taken political stances in his career but that seems to be changing. During his FOMO livestream, while previewing a new song, he showed support for the Palestinian fight against Israel.
“In other words, pray for Gaza,” he said on the livestream.
This isn’t the first time he’s mentioned Palestine, though. However, it was used as a cheap dig instead of a moment of solidarity.
On one of the tracks, Drake went in on a certain hypeman who calls himself a DJ for his lack of support of his people.
“And Khaled you know what I mean you went halal and got on your deen, and your people still waiting for a free Palestine but apparently everything isn’t black, white, red or green,” Drake raps.
The diss comes as DJ Khaled, a Palestinian-American, has come under fire for not vocalizing his support for the free Palestine movement.
Khaled responded to Drake subliminally, without mentioning the rapper.
“LET GOD RISE, AND ALL HIS ENEMIES SCATTER. No man nuh badda than JAH and a wi a run JAH crew Unoo come in a unoo thousands and two,” he posted. “They stand against you and hating me Dem just caant go through dem heart nuh clean nor free I remind dem so much of who they are supposed to be 1 am of royalty dem lost dem identity.”
