Michael “Killer Mike” Render is a son of Atlanta and champion of the people who has consistently spoken to, with, and for the community through his unminced lyricism, entrepreneurial spirit and resounding understanding of political process and civil duty. On July 17th The Atlanta City Council recognized the Outkast protege and Run The Jewels co-conspirator’s impact on the city and the culture, proclaiming Michael “Killer Mike” Render Day though Atlanta.
Mike was honored by Councilman Andre Dickens during the ceremony, saying “I respect you in so many ways, you represent the ATL well.” The S.W.A.G. Shop proprietor was also spoken highly of by State Senator Vincent Fort, who said “I appreciate this brother because he inspires so many people.”
In true Ric Flair fashion, Killer Mike makes an impact every time he speaks, making the most of this moment to call the city of Atlanta and it’s politicians to “make sure this city is not polarized by race and or class.”
Attaboy, Mike.
