After being released from prison DMX is back ripping down the stage with a mic in his hand.
DMX made his first post-prison performance at Mr. Ciao in Staten Island, N.Y. In clips of the performance, the Yonkers, N.Y. rapper wears a camouflage shirt, gold chain and black skull cap. The energy is still there as he performs hits like “Ruff Ryders’ Anthem,” “Where the Hood At,” “Party Up (Up in Here)” and more, backed by DJ Finesse.
According to those in attendance, “[X] performed his greatest hits — along with some freestyle material,” for more than 100 fans and supporters who packed into the restaurant. Ja Rule was actually supposed to be the featured performer of the night but he canceled and was replaced by X.
DMX is working on getting back to his normal life. He has been ordered to pay back $2.3 million in restitution and plans to do so by touring and other ventures. While he was in prison he was reportedly offered book and movie deals. It is unclear if he has accepted any of the offers.
