Rap star Big 30 is coming home! Well, at least for the time being.
The rap star who was swept up by the feds back in April on kidnapping and armed robbery charges is now set to be released, according to a recent report from XXL.
Big30 Granted Pre-Trial Release In Gucci Mane Kidnapping Trial
Big30 was initially granted a bond following his April arrest. But a stay order was imposed. Because prosecutors claimed he was a flight risk. Due to his having a pending seven-figure record deal on the table. Which they stated would soon give him the means to flee the country.
However, a judge recently reversed the ruling. And granted the rap artist pre-trial release. Noting the prosecutors “failed to establish” that Big30 was a flight risk.
“The Court finds that the Government has failed to establish that Wright is a flight risk or that the conditions of release imposed by Judge Christoff will not reasonably assure the safety of any person in the community,” the ruling explained. “Accordingly, the Court denies the government’s motion. The Court vacates any stay of the release order.”
Big30 was one of several men swept up on federal armed robbery and kidnapping charges back in April.
The feds believe that rap artist Pooh Shiesty lured Gucci Mane into an ambush at his studio in Dallas, Texas. Gucci believed that he and Shiesty were having a one-on-one business meeting to discuss his being released from his contract with 1017 Brick Squad. However, Gucci declined to sign the paperwork. Shiesty, His Father, Big 30, and several other men blitzed the rapper and forced him to sign the paperwork.
Their trial is currently set to begin on July 6.
