Bobby Shmurda critiqued JAY-Z’s Roots Picnic freestyle and the internet got instantly upset. Now, he’s clarifying where his beef with Hov and Roc Nation stems from.
What Did Bobby Shmurda Say About JAY-Z?
The former hitmaker took to social media to explain his gripe with the living legend, alleging that JAY and Roc Nation have shady business practices.
“Now listen up. Its not about how you say things it’s about what you’re saying. You’re not gonna tell me in a nice way you’re gonna r*** my family and take all my money right so wake up stupid,” Shmurda posted. “Now, this is a billionaire, 40 years old man at the time. I was a 19 year old less fortunate youth from the hood trying to make it out and this what they was doing. Now that I’m out of jail, after his lawyer put me in there, Alex Spyro, which is public. You can look it up. I told him I was forced. The judge said he didn’t care. He was sending me and all my friends upstate and we can get it on appeal.
Shmurda then detailed further alleged misconduct.
“I knew they wanted to make up for it, so when I came home from prison, I knew they were the only one that can get me out of the Epic deal,” Shmurda posted. “I was held on for six years in prison. The only artist that was held on a deal for six years major label, AKA billion dollar company. There’s people out here doing unprovocative things for deals. Lol that I don’t give a F about I’m just like ‘leave me alone.'”
Shmurda’s comments allege a few things. First, that JAY and Roc Nation signed him to a deal where he didn’t attain assets or make lasting wealth for his family. Next, he’s alleging Alex Spiro, a lawyer for Roc Nation, forced him to take the plea deal that got him incarcerated.
Later in the post, he accuses Roc Nation of having him blackballed.
“What they’ve been trying to take for years through shadow bans and Badd press that’s why I haven’t you haven’t been hearing my music or if you follow me you probably didn’t even get to see content,” Shmurda posted. “I know I came out in 2014 when it was viral actually viral now we are fed bulls*** all day. When things were liked because they were lit naturally funny, naturally lit naturally real. Now everything is fake with money behind it. They took this s*** back to TV and give us just a little bit of freedom. Now tho the jig is up they’ve been scamming for years. The rest of these ho3 n****** that’s untalented are gonna do anything to be put in front of a screen. Point blank Period.”
Shmurda also shared screenshots from his interview with Vibe. It’s reported while in court, he tried to fire Spiro and asked why he was waiving his rights.
He then shared another post where 50 Cent called JAY out for being a “grimy gatekeeper hater.”
What Else Did Shmurda post?
2Cool2Blog captured a video of Shmurda speaking pidgin in response to people coming at him about calling out JAY, saying he was going to the Marcy Projects.
“Life’s Exciting, watch what’s next p**** holes,” he posted on the video text. “I’m about to have fun, I talk str8 facts.”
Later on, he posted the explosive Instagram post that levied allegations against JAY and Roc Nation.
