Bonnaroo Music Festival Cancelled
Following the event’s cancellation the festival’s organizers released a detailed statement. Explaining their decision was based on an advisory from the National Weather Service.
āToday, the National Weather Service provided us with an updated forecast with significant and steady precipitation that will produce deteriorating camping and egress conditions in the coming days.
We must make the safest decision and cancel the remainder of Bonnaroo.ā
Fans sounded off on social media.
“When youāve just arrived at Bonnaroo and took all your edibles and then found out theyāve canceled the whole event,” one fan said on X, formerly known as Twitter.
“Itās really hard to imagine Bonnaroo coming back next year. 2 full cancellations in the span of 4 years is almost impossible to bounce back from,” another user added.
The organizers also expressed that they were “gutted” by their decision. And vowed to “make things right” with people who purchased tickets.
The festival’s organizers also pleaded for their community to exercise “patience” as they sort through an unforeseen dilemma.
They also added that their current priority is to get people with accessibility issues safely off the property.
Thursday’s slate of performances included Luke Combs, Dom Dolla, Insane Clown Posse, and Rebecca Black. Friday night was set to be headlined by rap star Tyler The Creator.
Saturday’s lineup would have seen Olivia Rodrigo hit the stage along with Avril Lavigne and Justine. With Sunday’s slate of shows concluding the festival with Hozier, Vampire Weekend, and Queens of the Stone Age.
The statement also added that they plan to give consumers refunds, but again emphasized the importance of patience.
