Famed 1990s rap artist Shyne was a guest on the Monday (March 16) episode of Cam’ron and Mase’s sports talk show, It is What it Is. And during his appearance, Cam’ron addressed a major elephant in the room between the two former Bad Boy artists.
Cam’ron Addresses Mase and Shyne Rumor
Cam’ron touched on the rumor that Mase and Shyne were both romantically involved with R&B star Brandy at the same time. Mase confirmed that it was true. And accused Shyne of coming in and trying to steal his shine.
“I was special, you know. So he (Shyne) came in and wanted to be special too. I had to let him be special, you know?” Mase said.
Shyne then chimed in. And he told his side of the story. Likening the situation to Kobe joining Shaquille O’Neal and the Los Angeles Lakers in his rookie season.
“I mean no lie told,” Shyne said. “He was Shaq. You know he was the champion. He was the MVP. I was Kobe, no pun intended, because you know they said Kobe was a special friend of Brandy’s as well. No pun intended, because I was coming out of high school to play on a championship team, he was the star of the team. I definitely wanted to be special.”

But Shyne insists that he had no idea that he was being played.
“But I had no idea. Because what happened is we had a mutual friend who was a snitch. I think [Mase] knows who it is. But I’m not going toexpose him,” he said.
Shyne goes on to say his excitement over being in a romantic relationship with the Moesha star that ultimately got him caught up.
“So I was so excited because this is my dream person. I’m a poor kid from Brooklyn. I’m watching MTV, watching Moesha, watching her on BET. And you know, as a dream, I’m like, ‘If I ever, if she was ever to know Shyne, I got that.’ So when I came up, she was in the crosshairs, so I was sniping. But I had no idea, though.”
He concludes by revealing that the aforementioned snitch ran his mouth, and word ultimately got back to Brandy — while she and Shyne were together.
Neither artist seemed to have sour feelings over the entire debacle.
