Cardi B’s latest album, Am I The Drama, has the hip-hop industry in a frenzy. The new album has reignited several rap beefs that Cardi previously had. JT, Nicki Minaj, and Ice Spice have taken shots at the Bronx emcee amid her rollout.
Cardi B Explains Delay Behind ‘Pretty & Petty’ Video
But the feud that Cardi appears to have taken the most personally is her feud with BIA. Cardi called her out on a song titled, Pretty & Petty. Amid their back-and-forths, Cardi initially teased that a music video would accompany the hit record. But she has changed course on those plans, citing that she does not want to “bully” BIA. Especially given that her album is dropping.
“God will punish me,” Cardi said in a social media post as caught by DJ Akademiks. “So, I’ll do a video tomorrow morning to another song. Probably next week, I’ll do a video for ‘Pretty & Petty [As F*ck]’. I’m nice to you because it’s your album day. I don’t wanna add to your stress. I’m not the bad person people think I am.”
On the song, which has gone viral since dropping, Cardi clowns the rising artist for having a lackluster music career.
“Name five BIA songs, gun pointin’ to your head (Head) / Baow, I’m dead (Grr) / That melatonin flow puttin’ us to bed / I’m doing you a favor, Epic, run me my bread (Run me my bread),” she raps on the song.
As part of the promo for her new album, BIA did an interview with Hot 97. During that interview, BIA acknowledged the jabs the femcee took at her on her new album. But said that ultimately reengaging in a feud with Cardi B was “beneath” her.
“It doesn’t really make me feel any type of way other than like, it’s not true,” she said. “Like, there are things on there that’s like, and what am I supposed to do? Keep rapping with Pardison [Fontaine]? You know I gotta, like, let that go.”
