Radio personality Charlamagne Tha God has secured a massive new deal with iHeartMedia, reportedly valued at $200 million, extending his long-running relationship with the media giant and expanding his influence across radio and podcasting.
The agreement keeps Charlamagne in his co-host role on The Breakfast Club while also extending iHeartMedia’s partnership with The Black Effect Podcast Network, the platform he co-founded to amplify Black voices in digital media. The deal further cements Charlamagne’s role not just as on-air talent, but as a media executive shaping the future of podcasting.
Speaking with Forbes, Charlamagne explained that ownership and infrastructure were central to the new agreement. “When I was looking at doing my new deal with iHeartMedia, I was like, ‘I don’t want to just be talent. I want to create this podcast network. I want to create the BET for podcasting,’” he said.
