Cowboys Player Marshawn Kneeland Dead at 24
The Cowboys released a statement confirming the news.
“It is with extreme sadness that the Dallas Cowboys share that Marshawn Kneeland tragically passed away this morning,” the team shared in a statement. “Marshawn was a beloved teammate and member of our organization. Our thoughts and prayers regarding Marshawn are with his girlfriend Catalina and his family.”
Kneeland’s agent, Jonathan Perzeley, also released a statement confirming the news. Calling the Cowboys’ defensive end’s death “unimaginable.”
“I watched him fight his way from a hopeful kid at Western Michigan with a dream to become a respected professional for the Dallas Cowboys. Marshawn poured his heart into every snap, every practice, and every moment on the field,” he said. “To lose someone with his talent, spirit, and goodness is a pain I can hardly put into words. My heart aches for his family, his teammates, and everyone who loved him. And I hope they feel the support of the entire football community during this unimaginable time.
After the news was announced, fans also chimed in, expressing their condolences for Kneeland’s loved ones.
“This is absolutely heartbreaking. My prayers go out to his family/loved ones, as well as Cowboys Nation. Way too young,” one person said on X, formerly known as Twitter.
“And he just scored his first career TD. Prayers up for his family, unfortunate news,” another person said.
“Gone too soon. RIP to him and praying for his family, teammates, and everyone else in the organization. Can’t imagine what they’re all going through in this moment,” another user added.
Details regarding Kneeland’s cause of death have not been revealed yet.
