Dave East is releasing his joint project with Styles P this week but today East was charged with misdemeanor assault, TMZ reports.

East is accused of punching a 28-year-old man named Joel Rosario near Pier 40 in the Hudson River Park while both men were leaving a “party cruise.” The victim told the TMZ that he didn’t interact with East on the cruise and doesn’t know why he was punched. Rosario was reportedly treated for a laceration above his left eye.
Dave East turned himself in to New York police this morning and was promptly charged and released from custody. He’s scheduled to appear in court in December, according to the report.
“We appeared as requested at the police precinct and we look forward to reviewing the criminal court complaint and investigating. My client is an absolute gentleman,” East’s attorney Stacey Richman told TMZ.
