Music mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs is currently housed at Fort Dix Correctional Facility. A complete change of scenery from his usual Miami mansion or New York City condo. To bring things up to speed, the Bad Boy Records founder is serving a 50-month prison sentence. After being convicted of prostitution charges this past May.
Diddy Enters Drug Treatment Program Amid Prison Bid
However, even though Diddy has already been handed down his sentence, he and his legal team have done everything in their power to get him out of prison. In his most recent attempt to get out early, the music mogul has entered a prison drug treatment program.
Combs released a statement through his spokesperson, Juda Engelmayer. Where he insists that he is taking his rehab “seriously.”
“Mr. Combs is an active participant in the Residential Drug Abuse Program (RDAP). And has taken his rehabilitation process seriously from the start,” Engelmayer said in a statement via NBC News. “He is fully engaged in his work, focused on growth, and committed to positive change.”
However, just because Combs is taking his rehab seriously doesn’t mean that he won’t endure some bumps on the road to sobriety. In fact, he already has.
According to a November 7 report from TMZ, the Bad Boy Records founder was recently busted for having an alcohol based concoction that was made up of “Fanta, sugar, and apples.”
The substance is often made by inmates and can “ferment into an alcoholic substance” after two weeks. Diddy’s decision apparently got him into some deep trouble with prison officials at Fort Dix. They were initially going to move him into a new cell, but decided to let him stay put.
Diddy was initially arrested by the feds in September 2024 and has made countless attempts to be released, but so far, all have fallen short. As it currently stands, Combs will be released in May 2028.
