Popular hip-hop personality DJ Vlad has brought out the big guns for Joyner Lucas. Vlad is suing Lucas for reposting a video clip of one of Vlad’s interviews without the proper permission or credit.
DJ Vlad Sues Joyner Lucas
The clip in question features popular comedian Aries Spears, where makes fun of rappers from the UK.
According to the lawsuit obtained by AllHipHop, Joyner uploaded the five-minute video clip to X, formerly known as Twitter, back in July. And he cropped out the VladTV logo before sharing it with his one million-plus followers.
According to the outlet, the video saw impressions of “4.4 million views, 2,800 reposts and 20,000 likes.” Before it was taken down for copyright infringement.
Vlad and his attorneys allege that Lucas ” knowingly used the copyrighted material to drive traffic to his account and promote his brand.”
Before the lawsuit was filed, Vlad tried to make amends with Joyner by offering him an ultimatum. The hip-hop personality vowed to drop all legal action against Lucas in exchange for him doing an interview on his platform, VladTV.
However, Lucas was not interested in doing any business with the famed hip-hop personality. And send him a lengthy “expletive-filled” text message, letting Vlad know exactly how he felt.
“Dear Vlad…. Suck my d##k. Call your attorney and do whatever you have to do. I wasn’t ever doing an interview with you before in this lifetime, and you’re definitely not getting an interview now,” the message reads. “So settle your legal matters however you want to settle them. I always thought you were a b##ch and this just confirms the kind of b##ch you are. No way in this lifetime or the next will I ever allow someone like you to try to extort me out of an interview. You got me all the way f##ked up.”
Lucas, however, has yet to respond to the lawsuit being filed.
