Drake Surpasses Kendrick Lamar to Secure Career Milestone
Drake secured another major milestone as he prepares to roll out his next studio album. According to a recent social media post from Chart Data, Drizzy has now retaken the throne. After the announcement was made, fans sounded off with mixed reactions on social media.
“Drake winning the streams, Kendrick winning the souls. Both kings, just different thrones,” one fan said on X, formerly known as Twitter.
“Yet Drake is suing saying his career is permanently damaged,” another fan said. Referencing Drake’s lawsuit against UMG over the distribution of Kendrick’s song, Not Like Us.
“This beef has produced the most consistent stream of music from both of these artists The real winners are the fans,” another user said.
Drizzy headlined the Wireless Festival in London, UK this past weekend. Although a lot of time has elapsed since he and Kendrick’s feud, Drake has proven that he is not letting anything slide.
First, a fan-captured photo revealed that Drake recently covered up the tattoo of Los Angeles Lakers Star LeBron James, in favor of Oklahoma City Thunder star, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, who is also a Toronto native, like Drake.
In addition, fans at the venue broke out a “f*** Kendrick,” chant during his performance. After realizing what the crowd was chanting, Drizzy agreed that he would “take a shot to that,” appearing to agree with the crowd’s sentiments.
Although the dust has settled concerning his and Kendrick’s feud, Drake is still standing on business.
