Rap star J. Cole is preparing to drop his next studio album, The Fall Off, in February. Ahead of his latest drop, rap legend Fat Joe says that he wants to hear the rap artist change his tone on the new album.
Fat Joe Goes Scorched Earth on J. Cole Ahead of Album Drop
Ahead of Cole’s drop, Fat Joe says that he doesn’t want to hear any tough talk from Cole on the upcoming project.
“I don’t look at him the same. He ain’t come outside. The f*****g sword is dull,’ Joe said (via JoeBuddenClips/X). “I don’t care what he spits. Because I been listening to him spitting, I always said that he is one of the greatest. But all of that is irrelevant to me when you start talking all of that gangsta s**t, and they call you to the yard, and you don’t step outside.”
Joe then used the rap feud between Everlast and Eminem as an example. Noting that Everlast knew that he couldn’t match up with Em, he still took on the challenge.

Some of the fans in the comments section of the social media clip appeared to agree with the Bronx emcee.
“He definitely was supposed to come outside, no question. That’s a L he gotta take,” one user wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter.
“I’m glad an OG rapper finally said it, bro. Cole needs to take the tough talk on. He had his chance or should’ve stfu,” another user added.
However, other users had a differing opinion.
“Thank the lord that hip hop doesn’t live and die with your word. Allow the rest of hip hop fans enjoy the music,” a third user chimed in.
J. Cole is one of the forgotten factors of the 2024 rap feud between Kendrick Lamar and J. Cole.
The feud was ignited after J. Cole named himself, Kendrick, and Drake the “Big 3” on Drizzy’s song “First Person Shooter.” However, Kendrick quickly dismissed the notion when he said it was just “big me” on Future and Metro Boomin’s track “Like That.” That ultimately led to Cole getting involved when he dropped his song “7 Minute Drill,” but he bowed out shortly after the song was released, wiping the song from the internet completely.
J. Cole’s The Fall Off is set to arrive on February 6.
