Gervonta “Tank” Davis just cleared one fight outside the ring — and now he’s gearing up for a much bigger one under the lights.
The 30-year-old boxing star is no longer facing a misdemeanor battery charge stemming from a Father’s Day weekend dispute with the mother of his two children. Davis was arrested July 11 in Broward County, Fla., after police alleged a heated argument at her home turned physical. But earlier this month, the woman told prosecutors she did not wish to press charges, confirmed she wasn’t afraid of Davis, and emphasized she wasn’t being pressured into dropping the case. With no statement to pursue, the state officially closed it out.
That leaves Tank with a clear lane to his next challenge: Jake Paul.
According to ESPN, the pair will face off November 14 at Atlanta’s State Farm Arena in a fight promoted by Paul’s Most Valuable Promotions and streamed exclusively on Netflix. The booking came after talks for a Davis–Lamont Roach rematch stalled, following their controversial majority draw back in March.
Roach wasted no time throwing shots on social media after the news broke, posting a string of duck emojis aimed at Davis for skipping the runback. But Tank’s focus is now locked on Paul, who’s built a reputation on turning internet buzz into real boxing paydays.
For Gervonta Davis, it’s a fresh slate: case closed, spotlight wide open, and a fight that blends sports, spectacle, and culture on one of boxing’s biggest stages.
