Iman Shumpert Sounds off on Taylor Swift, Teyana Taylor Beef
During a recent appearance on the Club Shay Shay podcast, Iman said that despite Taylor finding the comments “distasteful,” he remains “good friends” with Taylor.
“Me and Kay are good friends. It’s not like a thing where I’m going to be mad at her because she did that,” he said to the NFL Hall of Famer. She low key was just speaking her truth. It was a funny story, honestly.”

Taylor’s friction with Nicole stems from a 2024 appearance on WNBA star Angel Reese’s podcast. During her appearance, Nicole admitted to harboring “petty” resentment over being dumped for a famous singer/actress, later identified as Taylor. After photos surfaced of her cosplaying Teyana’s iconic look from Kanye West’s 2016 “Fade” music video. Consisting of a cropped gray tank top, a thong, and knee pads.
Teyana had a major issue with Kayla telling that story. Noting the unneccesaryness of it all because at the time she was divorced from Iman. She also called it “uncalled” and accused her of “knowing exactly what she was doing” by telling the story.
Iman also revealed that amid the backlash for her comments on Unapologetically Angel, Nicole did reach out to apologize.
“She hit me up, and that’s what I appreciate about Kay,” Shumpert added. “She hit me up and was like, ‘I’m so sorry. I wasn’t thinking. I’m trying to tell a funny story on the spot.”
Nicole also came under fire after her 2025 Halloween costume. She dressed up as R&B icon Toni Braxton. Recreating her look from the 2000 “He Wasn’t Man Enough” music video. A perceived shot at her ex-boyfriend, Travis Kelce, who got engaged to pop star Taylor Swift earlier that year.
