India Arie Rips Yung Miami’s ‘Spend Dat’
In a post shared by The Shade Room, India responds to a post that calls for a boycott of the song. Where Caresha asks, “Where all the scamming a** n****s at?” Irie says that even though some people may just think of the song as just a song, just consuming it can have “influence” on listeners.
“I spent my entire adult life caring way too much. I finally learned that not everybody Cares (with a capital C). And explaining it to them is not gonna make them care,” she said in response to the post. “Everything you listen to, see, or eat is going to influence you. So make wise choices ya’ll.”
Arie also said that the acceptance of the song is a sign of a “bigger problem.”
“The mass acceptance of this song itself is a [CRYSTAL] CLEAR sign of the bigger problem,” she continued. “I finally realized that not everybody wants to get free. And it was a very rude awakening.”
