Nicki Minaj’s appearance at the Turning Point USA Conference left the industry stunned. And while some people may be on the fence about whether to cut ties with the femcee because of her political views, one person who is not is Joe Budden.
Joe Budden Rips Nicki Minaj
During a recent episode of his self-named podcast, the one-time rap artist gave his current stance on Minaj. And he held no punches.
“So I’m out, Done. That was it. Sorry, I’m gone,” he said of the rap star. “That was the last candle on the cake for me. Sorry, Barbz, sorry Nicki. Please don’t call me. Don’t text me. It is what it is. Sometimes, how you move around out there does affect how I view you. This was one of those things. I’d be a fool to think that you didn’t consider that before you did it, which just says to me that you don’t really give a f**k.”

“No way to sugarcoat it. I’m done. I’m off. An ounce of black is black enough for me. When you stand next to people that have made their agendas very clear with black people. It means your complicit pic.twitter.com/BhlaBdyaqY
Minaj has not responded to Budden directly. However, she has heard the noise surrounding her. When she appeared at the Turning Point USA conference over the weekend with Erika Kirk, Minaj brushed off the criticism.
“I didn’t notice,” Nicki said of her critics, as caught by Kurrco on Twitter. “Bingo. We don’t even think about them. We’re the cool kids.
Minaj suggests the people who are critical of her are really “disgruntled” themselves. And as far as the backlash is concerned, Minaj said that her haters can “stay mad.”
“The other people, they’re the ones who are still just disgruntled. So really, they’re just disgruntled with themselves. They are angry with themselves, you guys,” she continued. “So you can’t wake up and think about somebody who is determined to just stay mad. I literally tell them, ‘Stay mad.’ ‘Cause we’re going to stay joyful and peaceful and iconic and smart. And we’re going to stay thinkers in a world that doesn’t want us to think. We will think. By ourselves, on our own. We will continue to think.”
