Kendrick & SZA’s ‘Luther’ Makes More History
Kendrick dropped his sixth studio album, GNX, in November 2024. The biggest hit off of his new project is undoubtedly his “Luther” collaboration with fellow TDE artist SZA. The smash hit has spent several consecutive weeks on the Billboard Hot 100. As the success of the song continues to balloon, Kendrick and SZA have joined some rare company.
The hit has now spent 11 consecutive weeks on the Billboard 100. According to a new report from HipHopDX, this ties Diddy and Faith Evans’ 1996 hit “I’ll Be Missing You,” which paid tribute to the late Notorious B.I.G. following his untimely passing.
Kendrick and SZA are also currently on tour. And from the looks of fan videos, the duo is continually packing out stadiums across the country. However, the real moment of truth will be on June 11 and 12, when their Grand National tour hits Toronto, Canada.
This show adds a bit of controversy. Mainly because Toronto is the hometown of Lamar’s biggest nemesis, Drake. The two had a bitter rap feud in 2024, and the rap star is currently pursuing a lawsuit over Kendrick’s 2024 hit “Not Like Us.” During an interview with Jimmy Kimmel earlier this year, the talk show host asked SZA if she had any concerns about those two tour dates.
“You’re going to Toronto for two nights. Are you worried about it at all?” Kimmel asked.
SZA, puzzled by the question, didn’t seem to be worried at all.
“Are you worried? I think it’s gonna be so fun,” she responded.
“What if you-know-who shows up to the show in Toronto?” Kimmel responded, referring to Drake.
SZA continued to act clueless about Kimmel’s question.
