Killer Mike fought back tears while discussing the state of Black-Asian relations following the acquittal of Rick Chow.
The Atlanta rapper argued that Black and Asian communities have been conditioned to view one another as enemies instead of uniting against larger systems of inequality. He expressed frustration over what he described as a lack of mutual respect, saying the relationship between the two communities is “just not working.”
Killer Mike also warned that the country is approaching a moment of crisis if Black Americans continue to be treated as inferior.
“We’re part of the fabric. We have nowhere else to go,” he said. “People can only take so much.”
His emotional comments called for unity while highlighting the anger and distrust that continue to divide Black and Asian communities.
