One of the most high profile trials in Hip Hop this decade has come to a verdict. After days of deliberation, the jury has found Lil Durk not guilty of all charges against him. This includes conspiracy to commit stalking, conspiracy to commit murder-for-hire, stalking involving a weapon, stalking resulting in death, and use of facilities to commit murder. If he was convicted of these charges, he faced life in prison.

His co-defendants, Deandre Wilson and David Lindsay were found guilty of stalking, but acquitted of all other charges.

Reports say Durk and his family were very emotional as the verdict was read. Durk has other pending charges against him from separate incidents, so it is unclear if he will be released from jail. He awaits a second trial for racketeering charges. The prosecution motioned to tack those charges onto this case. However, the judge denied it, and now, the racketeering case will be heard in Chicago, Durk’s home city.

This marks another major victory for attorney Brian Steele, who previously handled Young Thug’s defense in his racketeering case.

The Durk Case

The feds alleged that Lil Durk arranged the shooting of rival rap star Quando Rondo, as retaliation over the November 2020 shooting that claimed King Von’s life. They tried to claim that in response to King Von’s murder, Durk put a bounty on Rondo’s head. The feds also alleged that in August 2022, Durk arranged for several members of his Only The Family (OTF) crew to fly from Los Angeles to Chicago. Once arriving, he arranged for the crew members to stalk Rondo, who eventually stopped at a gas station. And that’s when the members opened fire — leaving Rondo’s cousin, Lul Pab, dead.

However, the jury did not see it the same.
