Lil Jon has confirmed the heartbreaking death of his son, Nathan Smith, known professionally as DJ Young Slade. He was 27 years old.
In a statement shared with TMZ, Lil Jon expressed profound grief, saying he and Nathan’s mother, Nicole Smith, are devastated by the loss. He described Nathan as “the kindest human being you would ever meet,” highlighting his caring nature, warmth, and deep love for family and friends. Lil Jon also praised his son’s talent and accomplishments, noting that Nathan was a music producer, artist, engineer, and a graduate of New York University.
Nathan was reported missing earlier this week, and authorities later recovered a body from a pond near the family’s home in Milton, roughly 30 miles north of Atlanta. Police have stated there is no indication of foul play. Lil Jon also thanked the Milton Police Department for their efforts during the search.
As tributes pour in, the hip-hop community and fans alike are mourning the loss of a young man remembered for both his talent and his gentle spirit.
