Rap star NBA Youngboy has made some interesting comments regarding rap legend Jay-Z.
Youngboy Says Hearing ‘The Blueprint’ Changed His Perspective
In a post shared by XXL, the Right Foot Creep creator recalls listening to Jay-Z’s 2001 album, The Blueprint. In one of the project’s most revered songs U Don’t Know, Hov references his net worth. Which at the time was $40 milliom. Despite him barely being in his thirties. Youngboy says that hearing those lyrics from the Roc Nation boss made him realize that he is “ahead of the game.”
“I was listening to Jay-Z’s Blueprint,” YoungBoy says in the clip.”That boy said, I think at 31 years old or some sh*t. That boy said, ‘You are now looking at a $40 million n***a.’ And I was just sitting back thinking to myself. How blessed I am and ahead of the f**king game I am.”
Youngboy also adds, “Boy, you know what you’re looking at? I ain’t even gon’ pop that, because like this, God will take it from you. So I’m chill on you.”
However, many fans in the comments section of the post did not appear to agree with the rapper’s sentiments.
“Lol, now let’s hear of anything else he did by 31, that you’ve done,” one person wrote in the comments section of the social media post.
“Yb would be flippin’ burgers if he were around for the blueprint era chill out,” a second user added.
“Y’all gotta account for inflation lmao. 40 million in the 90s is like 400 million today,” a third user chimed in.
It’s easy to see why the Louisiana rapper exudes the confidence that he does. In 2025 alone, he nearly doubled Jay-Z’s reported 2001 net worth. His “Make America Slime Again” (MASA) Tour grossed over $70-$75 million in revenue. The tour sold over 500,000 tickets across 42 sold-out shows in late 2025, placing it among the highest-grossing rap tours of all time.
