Nicki Minaj has not dropped a new album since 2023 when she dropped the second installment of Pink Friday. And with nearly two years elapsing since her last album, her fans have anxiously anticipated her next project.

Nicki Minaj Sounds Off on Upcoming Album
In a new interview with Vogue Italia, Minaj confirmed that she is currently working on the project. As far as the delay goes, the Starships creator said that she is taking her time with this new project. As she doesn’t want the album to feel rushed.
“I’ve got a bunch of really strong tracks, but I don’t want to rush. I want the record to mean something, both for the fans and for me. I’ll never be one of those people who put out songs just to put them out. I love music. I respect it,” she said.
When the forthcoming album does drop, there also appears to be an accompanying tour. As she says that she is ready to “experience it all,” again.
“[I want] to experience it all again, as soon as possible. For me, and for the Barbz,” she added.
Minaj’s elite lyricism and story-telling paralleled the female emcees who came before her such as Foxy Brown and Lil Kim. However, her versatile flow allowed her to step outside of the parameters of hip-hop and work with artists such as Ariana Grande, Usher, and Beyonce, thus bringing the female hip-hop genre mainstream.
When discussing the new features of her upcoming project, Minaj has remained mum for the most part. But she did hint at pop artists being among her current favorites to listen to. Namely Sabrina Carpenter and Billie Eilish.
“Sabrina Carpenter. I didn’t know she’d been around that long when I started listening to her. A breath of fresh air. I like Billie Eilish. I love everything she does. Then there’s a dancehall artist… his name’s Skeng,” she said.
