The federal trial of Sean “Diddy” Combs officially began on May 5. This is one of the most anticipated high-profile court cases in recent memory. So all eyes are glued to the embattled music mogul.

Prosecutors May Fail to Produce Key Witness in Diddy Trial

As both the prosecution and defense teams prepare for opening statements, Diddy may be looking at a major victory. According to a recent report from HipHopDX, one of the key witnesses in the federal trial may not take the stand.

According to the outlet, the key witness, known as “Victim No. 3,” in legal documentation, does not live near New York City. Where Diddy’s trial is taking place. During the second day of trial, prosecutors admitted in court that they are concerned. That the witness may not make the trek to New York to testify against the music mogul. Regardless of whether she is formally subpoenaed by the court.

In addition, prosecutors said they are having trouble contacting both the witness and her attorney. And the trial is just days away from opening statements. However, the prosecution also added that Victim No.3’s story is not set to be brought forth until the “second half of the trial.”

The witness “planned on describing the woman as someone who had been abused and sexually exploited by Diddy.” According to Maureen Coney, the lead prosecutor on the case.

Just two days into the trial, and it has already been the epicenter of drama. According to a new report from People, a potential juror was recently dismissed. Because they felt that Diddy could “buy his way out” of prison.

“Diddy has a lot of money to use at his discretion and possibly buy his way out of jail,” the juror said of Diddy during the selection process.

However, when asked by U.S. District Judge Arun Subramanian to expound on what she meant, she admitted that she did not know how to explain it.
