Ray J got his lights turned out when YouTube battle rapper Supa Hot Fire knocked him out a little less than a month ago at Adin Ross’ Brand Risk Boxing event. Now, it appears despite being in the hospital for three days, he’s getting back in the ring.

Why Is Ray J Fighting Again?

The R&B singer allowed a collab post that shows he’s set to face off against Orlando Brown, who you probably know as Eddie from That’s So Raven. Brown has had a varied career, especially in Black entertainment, appearing on shows such as Family Matters, The Proud Family, The Jamie Foxx Show, and the show that catapulted Ray J’s sister, Brandy, to TV stardom, Moesha.

Recently, Brown has fallen on tough times, revealing he was homeless for a period of time. He’s also peddled multiple unsubstantiated rumors such as him being a secret son of Michael Jackson, and having a sexual relationship with Bow Wow, which Shad Moss denies vehemently.

The fight is set to take place on the undercard of superstar Claressa Shields vs. Kaye Scott on August 15th for the Zeus Women’s Heavyweight Championship.

Ray J hasn’t commented why he’s fighting again, but fans have been left baffled by the announcement considering he needed three days in the hospital to recover. Not to mention, he claimed he only has 6 months to live.

What Happened To The Singer?

After getting falcon punched by Supa Hot Fire, Ray J reportedly transported himself to the hospital for treatment. When his team caught up with him, he aired out Ross and Brand Risk promotions for callousness.

““They didn’t check on me. The promoters they didn’t care about me. They didn’t care about the fighters. They’re terrible people to work with. Nobody tried to reach out, and I been stuck here ever since. It’s bad.”

After the bout, he heavily implied the promoter, Brand Risk Promotions, were running fixed fights and that he wasn’t supposed to get hurt.

Ross has responded to the claim, saying he’s taking the accusations seriously.

The “One Wish” singer also has suffered numerous health issues as of recent. At the top of the year, he told fans that his heart was only operating at 25% due to substance abuse. He grimly claimed doctors only gave him another year to live.

Despite all this, TMZ reports indicate doctors cleared him to fight during a physical in preparation for his fight.
