Redman Gets Honest on He and Method Man’s Relationship
The duo’s absence from the studio, had many fans wondering if the two had a falling out. And while he didn’t exactly say their relationship is fractured, Redman says him a Method Man’s relationship isn’t the same anymore.
“We do shows and we come back home,” he explained during a recent interview on the Julian Dorey podcast.
“I don’t hang out with a lot of rappers at all. This is work, this is home. We’re very inclusive with our movement. Once we’re off the road, we’re like, ‘Alright. You got a family to deal with, I got shit I gotta do.’ My circle is very small. So we all have different lives. I don’t hang out with rappers. I might call.”
Redman also added that he feels the same way about the relationship that he has with the majority of his rap cohorts.
“There’s a lot of MCs who I’m connected with. Of course, Wu[-Tang Clan] is my crew or whatever, but there’s a lot of artists that we might chop it up on the phone – but no,” he added.
“The only artists I hang out with are my boy DoItAll from Lords of The Underground and Treach if I see him in the hood and that’s about it. And Kid Capri. Kid Capri is my big bro. I talk to him and go see him all the time. But he’s not a rapper though. He’s a DJ. One of the best.”
Method Man has become a regular on the big screen since stepping away from the studio. He was one of the recurring characters on 50 Cent’s Power Book II: Ghost as Davis McClean, a crooked NymYC defense attorney. He and Red Man appeared on screen in season 3 when Red Man played McClean’s brother.
