A legal dispute is brewing between Rick Ross and Remy Ma over a film project that’s raising serious concerns about branding and life story rights.
According to reports, Rick Ross’s legal team has issued a formal letter objecting to a project originally titled The Biggest Boss, claiming it makes unauthorized use of his name, music, and personal story. His attorneys argue that the film could mislead audiences into believing Ross is affiliated with the project, pointing to social media reactions as evidence of the confusion.
The film’s premise—centered around a police officer who steals a drug dealer’s story and turns it into a rap career—has drawn attention due to its similarities to Ross’s real-life past. Before his rise in music, Ross, born William Roberts, worked as a correctional officer in Florida during the 1990s.
Remy Ma’s team responded quickly, stating she was unaware of the concerns and would never intentionally harm Ross’s brand, noting their decades-long personal and professional relationship. They also confirmed she has reached out to Ross directly to address the situation.
In response to the backlash, the title The Biggest Boss has already been removed from The Remy Network platform. However, it remains unclear whether the film itself will be halted or reworked moving forward.
As the situation develops, the dispute highlights the growing importance of protecting artist identity and intellectual property in an era where storytelling often blurs the lines between fact and fiction.
