Salt-N-Pepa are keeping the celebration alive following their long-awaited induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
Sandra “Pepa” Denton and Deidra “Spinderella” Roper spoke with TMZ earlier this week outside The Jennifer Hudson Show studios in Burbank, where the legendary group had just reunited for a surprise performance. The hip-hop trailblazers confirmed that they’re gearing up to hit the road again in 2026 — marking a full-circle moment for one of rap’s most influential acts.
The announcement comes fresh off their Musical Influence Award honor at the 2024 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame ceremony, held at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles. While the night was a celebration of their groundbreaking legacy, Cheryl “Salt” James used her acceptance speech to call attention to an issue that’s been weighing heavily on the group — the absence of their music on major streaming platforms.
“As we celebrate this moment, fans can’t even stream our music,” Salt said during the ceremony. “It’s been taken down from all streaming platforms because the industry still doesn’t want to play fair. Salt-N-Pepa have never been afraid of a fight. This is the Influence Award. We have to keep using our influence until the industry honors creativity the way the audience does — with love, respect, and fairness — and that includes streaming platforms too.”
The group has been embroiled in a legal dispute with Universal Music Group over their catalog, with their team alleging that the label removed their music in retaliation over ongoing rights issues. Despite the setback, Salt-N-Pepa are keeping their eyes on the future.
Salt playfully hinted at the highly-speculated trek during her speech, teasing fans with, “Are we doing a Reunion Tour? Yes, yes — 2026, but don’t quote us!” According to Pepa and Spinderella, new music isn’t off the table either.
As the first women in hip-hop to achieve platinum status, Salt-N-Pepa’s legacy continues to shape the genre decades after their debut. With a new tour and renewed purpose, the group is once again proving that their influence goes far beyond the hits.
