Shyne’s remarkable life journey is set to be immortalized in a documentary, with DJ Khaled joining the project as a producer.
Titled “The Honorable: Shyne,” the documentary will chronicle Shyne’s path from being a Bad Boy artist to his role as the Leader of the Opposition in the Belize House of Representatives and his leadership in the Belize United Democratic Party, encompassing all the captivating twists and turns in between.
This documentary is the result of a partnership that the rapper-turned-politician established earlier this year with Disney-owned entities ESPN and Andscape.
In a statement provided to Billboard, Shyne shared his perspective, saying, “Immigrating from Belize to Brooklyn as a child left to survive and thrive in the concrete jungle of New York, Hip Hop had a massive influence on my life, giving me the space and community to explore my creativity and amplify the voice of my pain and purpose.” He emphasized the pivotal role that Hip Hop played in shaping his life.
Shyne continued, “The difficult decisions of my life have shaped me into the person I am today, steadfast in my desire to build a better life for the people of Belize and humanity.”
Furthermore, Shyne hopes that his life story, presented to audiences through the documentary, will serve as a source of inspiration, encouraging others to discover their indomitable spirit and overcome adversity, thus making a positive impact on their own part of humanity. He sees his unique journey, which has encompassed music, faith, and public service, as a testament to the potential within each person to leave a meaningful imprint on the world.
“The Honorable: Shyne” is under the direction of Marcus A. Clarke, with production led by ColorCreative.
