T.I. is revisiting the long-discussed Verzuz battle that never happened, claiming 50 Cent initially agreed to step into the ring before later backing out.
According to Tip, the matchup was supposed to be about celebrating Hip-Hop and the culture. However, he says things took a turn behind the scenes.
“It was supposed to be for Hip Hop and culture,” T.I. said. “Then he started doing goofy sh*t. I don’t even wanna be on the stage with him anymore. I lost respect for him.”
For years, fans debated who would win a potential Verzuz between the two rap heavyweights, with both artists boasting deep catalogs and undeniable impact on the 2000s era of Hip-Hop. The battle was heavily discussed online but ultimately never materialized.
T.I.’s latest comments suggest the reason wasn’t just scheduling conflicts or negotiations, but a breakdown in mutual respect.
While 50 Cent has yet to publicly respond to the latest remarks, the comments add another chapter to the tension between two of rap’s biggest names. What once could have been a monumental cultural moment now appears to be permanently off the table.
