Aqua Teen Hunger Force changed the game when it came to adult animation. The misadventures of Master Shake, Meatwad, and Frylock has gone on to become a cult classic, serving as a flagship program for Adult Swim. However, despite its success, it seems one of the stars of the show has fallen on hard times.
What Cast Member Is Homeless?
Carey Means, the smooth voiced actor who voices Frylock, is reportedly struggling to make ends meat. On Facebook, he posted about his dire situation.
“Homeless! Please help!!,” Means posted. “Our rent went up and we have to move. We have no money and no credit. $careymeans, paypal.com/careymeans, or buy a plushie or autograph at www.careymeansfrylock.com. Every little bit helps!”
It’s unclear how this happened, but fans have speculated that because Means recorded out of Atlanta and wasn’t part of a Union, that he didn’t retain royalties from the show, despite the popularity of Frylock.
This isn’t the first time a beloved voice of the Adult Swim generation seemingly didn’t get the financial security they deserved. Andy Merrill, who played Brak on the Brak Show, Space Ghost Coast To Coast, and other shows, previously posted about having money troubles as well.
