Turk Takes Legal Action After Being Booted From Reunion Tour
According to Complex, Turk recently filed a lawsuit in Broward County, Florida. Alleging that Artists By Artists Agency LLC (ABA) and Dope Shows Inc., the promoters of the reunion tour, owe him $340,000.
The lawsuit stems from the promoters of the tour alleging that Turk was a “security risk.” As the reason why he was kicked off the tour. However, Turk asserts that he signed a contract to do the tour for $400,000. But over the summer, the promoters asked the Hot Boys member to take a pay cut for an undisclosed amount of money.
In July, Turk and his wife/manager Erica “Emani” Virgil posted a video to his Instagram account. Detailing how it all went down.
“The same day, after I refused to take less money than what the agency and promoters of the Cash Money 30th Anniversary Tour owed me, instead of saying they didn’t have enough money to pay me, I received a last-minute termination notice saying I was a ‘security risk,’” he said in the video.
The lawsuit also adds that the promoters used his feud with bandmate B.G. to “drum up interest and sell tickets.”
The suit also adds that the promoters’ allegations against him are a “pretext.” Because B.G. stayed on the tour, the suit also alleges that he accepted a pay cut.
In addition to the remaining $340,000 that he is owed from the tour, Turk is also suing the promoters for additional damages. Because the tour continued “using his name and likeness to promote the shows,” even after he was booted.
