Young Thug is scheduled to release UY Scuti this Friday, September 26. It will be his first project since being released from prison in 2024. And he has a lot to address on the upcoming studio album.

Young Thug Has Heated Exchange With Reporter Over Gunna

One of the things that Thug will likely dig into on the forthcoming project is his falling out with former YSL artist Gunna. And given his latest run-in with the paparazzi, it appears he still has sour feelings toward the Wunna creator.

As Thug was heading into a courthouse to support artist Metro Boomin in his trial, a reporter approached him with a camera. The rap star jokingly scolded the reporter, “Go ahead on, bruh,” he said with a slick smirk, while also adding, “I’ll see you again, man.”

But his mood quickly changed once the reporter asked the YSL founder about his relationship with Gunna.

“Are you with us or are you a f**k n***a?” he asked.

The reporter quickly responded, “journalism,” and Thugger quickly pointed out the grammatical error in his response.

“How you ‘a journalism’? That doesn’t make sense. Just a journalist,” the rap star hit back.

The friction between Gunna and Thug began during the YSL RICO trial. Gunna was swept up by the feds in the initial indictment. But a few months later, he negotiated his release by entering an Alford Plea. Under the plea, Gunna maintained his innocence but admitted that the prosecution’s evidence would likely result in a guilty verdict if brought to trial.

Despite Gunna’s plea not being used in the YSL trial, Thug said it was still harmful to his case during a recent interview with Big Bank.

“Was Gunna takin’ that plea harmful to me? Yes, 100%,” Thug said to Big Bank. “First we tellin’ the jurors ‘YSL ain’t a gang.’ Now [after the plea deals] we goin’ back to the jurors sayin’, ‘Well, some people might say it’s a gang — but we ain’t a part of that part of it. We are part of the record label.”
