2 Chainz, Statik Selektah Set to Drop Album With Massive Features

In a recent social media post, Statik Selektah revealed that he and 2 Chainz have a collab album coming later this year. The pair have already confirmed some major hip-hop heavyweights on the project as well. Westside Gunn, Lil Wayne, Mary J Blige, and Ceelo Green, are just a few of the few of the featured artists on the upcoming project.

In a 2023 interview, Statik confirmed that the album was done. He also compared it to Jay-Z’s Reasonable Doubt for 2 Chainz.

“Our album is [done]. It’s in my phone right here,” he said. “We brought it to heights that are like ridiculous. This is his Reasonable Doubt. I just can’t wait for people to hear it. It’s coming.”

Rap Star Gets Honest on Kendrick Lamar

2 Chainz became a hot topic this past summer. When Kendrick Lamar name-dropped him on his diss track “Not Like Us,” which made major airwaves.

In the song, Lamar accuses Drizzy of using Atlanta artists to boost his promotion and uses 2 Chainz as an example.

“2 Chainz say you good, but he lied

You run to Atlanta when you need a few dollars

No, you, not a colleague, you a f**king colonizer,” he raps on the song.

During a recent interview on Power 105.1 FM’s The Breakfast Club, 2 Chainz denied the claim. He also added he has no beef with Kendrick for name-dropping him because he understands that it is just a part of the nature of battle rap.

“I just think it was kind of like some wordplay, ’cause Drake and I got a song called ‘No Lie,’ And so when he said he lied, it just felt like, I don’t know, but I didn’t take it as no kind of way. I don’t think he was taking a shot at me,” he said.

“I’ve heard all types of instances where somebody wants me to say something back. I just think it was a moment where it was about Atlanta artists.”
