Drake and Kendrick have been battling on the charts for several weeks as both stars seek chart supremacy.
Kendrick Tops Drake on Charts Once Again
This week Kendrick scored another victory against the Toronto-born artist. He and fellow TDE star SZA’s hit song Luther once again topped the Billboard Charts. The duo edged Drake’s hit song Nokia which came in at number two.
K Dot and Drizzy have each dropped projects in the last two months. Kendrick dropped GNX in November ahead of his Super Bowl Halftime performance.
Drake has dropped the more recent project. He and fellow Canadian artist, Party Next Door, dropped a collab album $ome $exy $ongs 4 U on February 14.
Both have also recently dropped the visuals for their respective songs.
The visuals for Drake’s “NOKIA” feature a classic black-and-white backdrop. He also pays homage to the classic Nokia phone with displays of the classic snake game.
Oklahoma City Thunder star, Shai Gilgeous Alexander also makes a cameo in the music video.
The video for Kendrick and SZA’s Luther video doesn’t feature nearly as much choreography as their Super Bowl Halftime performance. But still, the visuals did not disappoint. Switching between black and white and color backdrops to capture the high and low feeling of their smash hit.
Drake also appeared on a stream with Adin Ross earlier this week and confirmed that he does in fact have a new project on the way. This upcoming album, however, will be a solo project. It will be his first solo studio album since he dropped “For All The Dogs” two years ago.
The feud between Kendrick and Drake is over, but after a rap feud that has ruled the music industry over the last 13 months, it seems as if they will be pitted against each other for the rest of their careers.
