Hip-Hop Community Reacts to Sinners
After seeing the film, several members of the hip-hop community weighed in on Coogler and Jordan’s most recent box office hit.
Rap legend Snoop Dogg said: “My God, movie of the f*****g year. Ryan Coogler is a great director. Great storyline, it’s a must-see.
Snoop also added: “This sh*t is f*****g phenomenal, so says Snoop Dogg! Oh yeah, that muh****a is smokin’ hot.”
R&B artist Halle Bailey also echoed the same sentiments. Calling the Coogler film the “best movie of the year.”
Bailey is no stranger to the film industry as she had starring roles in the remakes of The Little Mermaid and The Color Purple.
The hip-hop community wasn’t the only one weighing in on Sinners. Athletes were also in awe of Coogler and Jordan’s latest project.
Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James said: “My brothers Ryan Coogler and Michael B. Jordan did it again!!! ABSOLUTE INCREDIBLE FILM! Ryan, Thank you for allowing My Queen, me, family, and friends to screen it. 10/10 movie! Make sure y’all go check out “SINNERS”! It’s a MUST SEE!!!!!!
The film stars Jordan in a dual role, in perhaps his most impressive performance to date. The story takes place in rural America in the 1930s. Jordan plays the role of two twin brothers who open up a juke joint and bring their banjo-playing cousin to help provide the entertainment. But when uninvited guests show up to the joint to try to gain entry, they are met with an unwelcome surprise.
