One part of the documentary that will surely be covered in the upcoming film will be Snoop Dogg’s time with the Death Row label. Particularly concerning his relationship with Death Row co-founder, Suge Knight.
Knight has made some disparaging remarks about Snoop over the last few years. Snoop insists that the source of Knight’s disdain stems from his acquiring Death Row Records in February 2022. However, Knight has since denied those claims.
“Snoop, you said I’m mad because you bought Death Row? What did you buy? Show me the paperwork. Show me what you own,” he said.
Knight also called out Snoop’s failures as a music executive — Noting that his Doggystyle label flopped and his lack of success as an executive for Def Jam Records.
“And you were running Def Jam. Did you do anything good for Def Jam? Absolutely not. Now you wanna start something that has nothing to do with you. You are going backward,” he added.
“You tryna create something that Suge Knight created. But instead of going big, you disappoint the world by making everything flop.”
