NBA YoungBoy just added another major milestone to his already impressive résumé. His latest release, MASA, debuted at No. 6 on the Billboard 200, moving 49,000 equivalent album units—nearly all from streaming, according to *Billboard*.
That makes 16 top 10 albums for the Baton Rouge rapper, putting him in elite company. He’s now tied with JAY-Z and Nas for the third-most top 10 entries among hip-hop artists, trailing only Drake (17) and Future (18).
But it’s not just the numbers doing the talking. One of the album’s standout moments comes on the track “XXX,” where YoungBoy gives a bold shoutout to former president Donald Trump, who granted him a pardon earlier this year.
“Make America slimey again,” YB raps. “Whatever Trump doin’, bitch, it’s good for the youngins.”
The line caps off a surreal chapter in YoungBoy’s legal saga, which saw him publicly thank Trump following the pardon.
“I want to thank President Trump for granting me a pardon and allowing me to keep building. As a man, as a father, and as an artist,” YoungBoy said in a statement shared with Newsweek. “This moment means a lot. It opens the door to a future I’ve worked hard for and I am fully prepared to step into this.”
And step forward he has. Not long after securing his freedom, the notoriously prolific rapper announced a new album and is gearing up for his first-ever headlining tour, signaling that YoungBoy is ready to reclaim the spotlight on his own terms.
With Make America Slime Again, NBA YoungBoy isn’t just breaking personal records—he’s rewriting the rules of how legacy and controversy collide in rap.
