Cardi B Exposes Offset Amid Pending Divorce
Cardi filed for divorce from the former Migos member in August 2024. But she remains legally married to the rap star more than a year later. During a recent X Spaces, the Grammy-winner revealed what the holdup is in making their divorce official.
According to Cardi B, Offset is demanding that she pay his taxes and surrender their home as part of the divorce settlement. And she refuses to oblige.
“The only way I can get out of my marriage is if I pay for somebody else’s taxes, even though I pay for my own. And give them one of my properties. I’m not, I’m fighting for that,” she said during the Spaces via Bardi Unfiltered. “I’m not gonna stop living my life because I’m practically still married because somebody wants to hold me hostage if I don’t give them millions of dollars to get out of it. So that’s what I’m going through in life.”
Rap Star Wants Ex to be A ‘Better Person’
Cardi B and Offset were married for seven years. And for the most part, their marriage was tumultuous. After Offset was found guilty of infidelity on several occasions. Their relationship may be over. But the two of them still share three children, Kulture, Wave, and Blossom. And Cardi says that her hope is for him to be a “better person” for their kids.
“I just wish he were a better person, but it is what it is. Be a better person for your kids,” she said during a recent interview with CBS’s Gayle King.
However, amid their divorce, Cardi says she doubts that she and Offset will be able to successfully co-parent. Because of the “hate” that he has in his heart.
“I think not right now, I don’t really have hate in my heart anymore. Think he has some type of hate in his heart. I don’t know how long that’s gonna take,” she added.
“We should be able to celebrate [our kids],” she added. “But it’s not about the kids. One thing I’m learning is that it’s not about the kids. So, what’s it about? “I don’t know.”
