Ahead of Sean “Diddy” Combs’ sentencing on Friday, one of his former girlfriends has denied being victimized by him, contradicting claims made by federal prosecutors.
Virginia Huynh, identified as “Victim 3” in the indictment, told Judge Arun Subramanian in a letter that she never considered herself a victim of Combs. “I felt pressured to feel like a victim. I told them I was not, but they insisted that I was, even when I expressed my truth otherwise,” she wrote.
Prosecutors had planned to call Huynh, also known as Gina, as a witness but informed the court before trial that they could not reach her. Other testimony mentioned Combs’ violence toward her and his overlapping relationships with both Huynh and Cassie Ventura. Huynh said she was not asked to write the letter, which was submitted Wednesday by Combs’ legal team along with others.
Combs’ attorneys told the court they plan to play a 15-minute video at sentencing, with at least four lawyers expected to speak. Combs himself is also slated to address the judge.
In July, Combs was convicted of two counts of transporting individuals for prostitution, each carrying a maximum 10-year sentence. He was acquitted of more serious sex trafficking and racketeering conspiracy charges.
Meanwhile, Ventura and her parents submitted letters urging the judge to weigh the victims’ fears and experiences. Ventura said she has relocated her family out of New York, fearing retribution for her testimony.
Sentencing is scheduled for 10 a.m. ET Friday in Manhattan.
